We look at n=1 to n=5 and get
A1 = 2(1) - 3 = -1
A2 = 2(2) - 3 = 1
A3 = 2(3) - 3 = 3
etc.

First 5 terms of sequence:
An= 2n-3
Substitute n=1

An= 2n-3
A1= 2(1)-3 = 2-3 = -1

Substitute n=2

An= 2n-3
A2= 2(2)-3 = 4-3 = 1

Substitute n=3

An= 2n-3
A3= 2(3)-3 = 6-3 = 3

Substitute n=4

An= 2n-3
A4= 2(4)-3 = 8-3 = 5

Substitute n=5

An= 2n-3
A5= 2(5)-3 = 10-3 = 7

First 5 terms of sequence:  -1, 1, 3, 5, 7
