Question 1009381: Is my work and answer correct for this problem?
The instructions were to find the first five terms and 10th term given the explicit formula.
an = 8 – 5n
a1 = 8-5(1) = 8-5 = 3
a2 = 8-5(2) = 8-10 = -2
a3 = 8-5(3) = 8-15 = -7
a4 = 8-5(4) = 8-20 = -12
a5 = 8-5(5) = 8-25 = -17
a10 = 8-5(10) = 8-50 = -42
First five terms: 3, -2, -7, -12, -17
10th term: -42
