Question 470801: a REctangle with an area of 84 square centimeteres is 5 centimeters longer than it is wide. Find its perimeter? How am i supposed to work this out? I'm stuck on this problem and my notes don't help , and the net formulas don't help either.

Question 472435: I am having trouble finding the length and width if a certain rectangle has an area of 288 square inches and a perimeter of 9 feet.
I changed 9 feet into inches which is 108 inches.
I tried to do guess and check, but it is not really working for me...
