Question 409153: Hi,
I have two questions, that I think I aby all four sides so 72.and the width is 144.P= 2l+2w so I am just looking for affirmation.
Second question- there are several similar ones in the back data of algebra.com, and I used them as a reference, NUmber of tickets sold each day for handels Messiah is given as N(x)=0.5x^2+10x+15 where x is the number of days, since the concert was first announced, when will daily ticket sales peak, and how many will be sold? Here is my answer- They will peak at 59 days and a total of 1,191 tickets will be sold. I tried to use a template so I know this one may be way off.
Thank you for your time, and if you cant get it, I am appreciate the effort. Math has never been a plus for me, and imaginary solutions, make me long for long division.

Question 412086: If I have a square with an area = .5"^2 and I want to know the length of the side, I would normally use Sqrt(.5) to obtain the side length. For numbers >=1, this works and makes sense. With numbers <1, the math works, but does not make sense. Sqrt(.5)= .71. The sides of the square are larger than the area of the square. If i convert the area to CM's, everything works as expected (this creates numbers >=1). If my area = 4"^2, then sqrt (4) = 2" length of side. This makes sense.
How do I correctly calculate the side of a square when the area of that square is less than 1?
