Hi there,
Make Width = 'x'
Length = 2x - 5
Perimeter of a rectangle =
2 x Width + 2 x Length
26m = 2(x) + 2(2x - 5)
26m = 2x + 4x -10
Collect like terms:
2x + 4x = 26 + 10
6x = 36m
x = 6m
Width = 6m
Length = 7m
