Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the perimeter of a rectangle is 176 cm.
2L + 2W = 176
simplify, divide by 2
L + W = 88
the length is equal to 3 times the width decreased by 4.
L = 3W
Find the dimensions of the rectangle
Replace L in the 1st simplified equation with 3W
3W + W = 88
4W = 88
W = 88/4
W = 22 is the width
then
3(22) = 66 cm is the length
