Question 943225: The length of a rectangle is five times its width.
If the perimeter of the rectangle is 120 m, find its area.

Answer by macston(5194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length=L=5W; Perimeter=P=2(L+W)=120 m
P=2(5W+W)=120 m
2(6W)=120 m
6W=60 m
W=10 m Width of the rectangle is 10 meters
L=5W=5(10)=50 m Length of the rectangle is 50 meters
A=L x W=10 m x 50 m=500 sq m Area is 500 square meters
