perimeter=2L+2W
270 cm=2(73 cm)+2W
270 cm=146 cm+2W Subtract 146 from each side
270cm-146cm=146cm+2W-146cm
124cm=2W divide each side by 2
124/2 cm=2W/2
62 cm=W ANSWER Width=62 cm
CHECK
perimeter=2L+2W
270 cm=2(73 cm)+2(62 cm)
270 cm=146 cm+124 cm
270 cm=270 cm

The perimeter of a rectangular painting is 270 centimeters. If the length is 73 centimeters, what is the width?

2(L + W) = 270
