What are the dimensions of each rectangle?
:
if the perimeters are equal the sum of the lengths and widths are equal
.7x + 1 + 1.5x -2 = 2.5 + x + 4 - 1.3x
Combine like terms
.7x + 1.5x - x + 1.3x = 2.5 + 4 - 1 + 2
2.5x = 7.5
x = 7.5/2.5
x = 3
First rectangle
.7(3) + 1 = 3.1 cm
by
1.5(3) - 2 = 2.5 cm
2nd rectangle
2.5 + 3 = 5.5 cm
by
4 - 1.3(3) = .1 cm
