Question 926383: a dog trainer has 80 feet of fencing with which to create a rectangular area for dogs. if the trainer want to enclose an area of 300 ft square what will be the dimensions of the enclosure
Answer by JulietG(1812)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter = 80
Area = 300
The easiest way to do this is to find the factors of 300 and then see which ones add up to 40 (half of 80 since P=2L + 2W).
Factors of 300:
1,300
2,150
3,100
4,75
5,60
10,30
12,25
15,20
Only 10 and 30 = 40
Width = 10, length = 30
10*30=300 sf area
10+10+30+30=80 perimeter
