Hi,

A rectangle has a length which is 7 ft less than three times the width.
The area is 348 square feet
A = lw
(3x-7)x = 348ft^2
3x^2 - 7x - 348 = 0 |format a^2 + bx + c = 0

x = 12ft, the width (throwing out negative solution for unit measure
and length is 29ft
CHECKING our answer***
12ft•29ft = 348ft^2
