perimeter of a rectangle is 36 meters. 

the length of the rectangle is 4 meters longer than the width 

find the length and width of the rectangle.   

Question states*** 2l + 2w = 36m

 2(w+4m) + 2w = 36m

 2w + 8 + 2w = 36m

     4w = 28m

      w = 7m, the width and the length is 11m   (7m + 4m)

CHECKING our answer***

  = 22m + 14m =  36m

 How do you find the perimeter of  a rectangle?

2L+2W=P

L=W+4

2(W+4)+2W=36

2W+4=18

2W=14

W=7

L=11

check

22+14=36
