THE LENGTH OF A RECTANGULAR LABEL IS 5 CENTIMETERS LESS THAN 2 TIMES THE WIDTH. THE PERIMETER IS 110 CENTIMETERS. FIND THE WIDTH.
i understood the part that was 2x-5, but i didn't understand how to think through the 2x+2
the solution was set up as follows: 2x+2(2x-5)--it was the 2x+2 where I got confused

perimeter = 2L + 2w
length (L) = 2w - 5
width (w) = w
2(2w - 5) + 2w = 110
4w - 10 + 2w = 110
6w - 10 + 10 = 110 + 10
6w = 120
6w/6 = 120/6
w = 20
check:
2(2(20) - 5) + 2(20) = 110
2(40 -5) + 40 = 110
2(35) + 40 = 110
70 + 40 = 110
110 = 110
