let width be x
then length 2x-4
Perimeter = 2(x+2x-4)
=2(3x-4)
=6x-8

a square whose side is equal to the sum of the width and the length of the rectangle.
side of square = x+(2x-4)
Perimeter = 4(x+(2x-4))
=4(3x-4)
=12x-16

Perimeter of square + perimeter of rectangle = length of wire
6x-8+12x-16=264
18x-24=264
18x=264+24
18x=288
/18
x=16
perimeter of rectangle = 6x-8
=16*6-8=88 cm
perimeter of square = 12x-16
=12*16-16
=192-16
=176 cm
