The prompt says that this can be done on the calculator, but I can't wrap my head around it.

The diagonal is longer than the length
The diagonal divides rectangle into two right angle triangles, and we can use Pythagorean theorem:

so, substitute it in
and we are told that this is 10 feet longer than one side,
