Question 763924: the length of a rectangle is 4 centimeter more than twice its width. the perimeter is 86 centimeter. find the length and width.
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Width = xcm
Length = 4 + 2x cm
Perimeter = 2*length + 2*width
86 = 2(4 + 2x) + 2x
86 = 8 + 4x + 2x
86 - 8 = 6x
6x = 78
x = 13cm
Width = 13cm
Length = 30cm
Hope this helps.
