Question 759445: The perimeter of a rectangle is 212m. The length is 52m greater than 4 times the width. What's its length and width

 Perimeter of a rectangle is 2(length+width) ie, 2(l+b)
Let the width be x,
then given l=4x+52
     given P = 212
     ie, 2(l+b) = 212
         2(4x+52+x) = 212
         5x + 52 = 212/2 = 106
         5x = 106-52
          x = 54/5
          x = 10.8 (this is the width)
given l=4x+52
      l= 4*10.8+52 = 95.2
Length is 95.2 & width is 10.8
