Let l be the length of the room and w be the width of the room.
From the question we can get two equations :
(1)
and
(2) (this is the formula for perimeter of a rectangle)
Substituing (1) into (2) we get:







Now substituting this value for w into (1) we get:




Therefore the room is 18 by 11.
