Question 519969: the length of a vegetable garden is 4 feet than its width. If the area of the garden is 165 square feet, find its demensions
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width =x
length =(x+4)
area = L*W
x(x+4)=165
x^2+4x=165
x^2+4x-165=0
x^2+15x-11x-165=0
x(x+15)-11(x+15)=0
(x+15)(x-11)=0
x=-15 , 11
width =11 and length = 15ft
