Question 512854: The length of a rectangle is 6 feet more than its width. What are the dimensions
of the rectangle if the perimeter is 44 feet?

Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter = 44 feet
Length = l=w+6
Width = w
Perimeter of a Rectangle = length + length + width + width
Perimeter of a Rectangle = 2l + 2w
44=2(w+6)+2w
44=2w+12+2w
44-12=4w
32=4w
32/4=4w/4
8=w
w=8
Length = l=w+6=4+6=10
Dimensions of the rectangle
Length=10
Width=8
Perimeter=44
