Question 511554: A rectangle has a perimeter of between 30 cm and 40 cm. The length is twice the width. What might it's dimensions be? How do you know?
Answer by oberobic(2304)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L = 2W
.
P = 2(L+W)
P = 30
.
substitute L=2W
.
2(2W+W) = 30
6W = 30
W =5
.
L = 2W
L = 10
.
Now check for P=40
.
6W = 40
W =6 2/3
.
So the width is between 5 and 6 2/3.
The length is twice the width regardless of the width.
.
Done.
