Question 495739: how do you solve this by using the quadratic equation using the quadratic formula.
Answer by cleomenius(959) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A = 2
B = -3
C = -2
the formula is =(-b +,- / 2a)
(-3)^2 -( 4(2)(-2) ) = 9 + 16 =25
= 5
3 + 5 = 8/4= 2
3 - 5 = -2/4 = -1/2
======================================================
To check:
2(2)^2 - 3(2) -2 = 0
2(-1/2)^2 - 3(-1/2) -2= 0
These do check.
Cleomenius.
