Question 495733: Suppose that the length of a rectangle is three cm longer than twice the width and that the perimeter of the rectangle is 90 cm. How would I set up an equation for the perimeter involving only W?
Answer by cleomenius(959) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
W = x
L = 2W
P = 2w + 4w = 90 *This is the equation you are looking for.
6w = 90
w = 15 cm
l = 30 cm
2(15) = 30
2(30) = 60
30 + 60 = 90 cm
This does check,
Cleomenius.
