Question 487023: A rectangle is 2 times as long as it is wide. If the area is 18 square feet, find its perimeter
Answer by John10(297)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L = 2W
AREA = L*W = 18
2W(W) = 18
2W^2 = 18
W^2 = 18/2
W^2 = 9
W = 3 OR W = -3
THE WIDTH IS 3 FT
THE LENGTH IS 2(3)= 6 FT
The perimeter is:
P = 2( L + W) = 2 (3 + 6) = 2(9) = 18 ft
