The perimeter is also doubled. This is mainly because perimeter is one-dimensional. If the question were asking for area, it would be multiplied by 4 because area is two-dimensional.

The perimeter of any rectangle is given by:



If you multiply each of the length and width by some arbitrary number , then the perimeter of your resized but similar rectangle is:



So multiplying each of the dimensions by results in the new perimeter being times the old perimeter.
