4 times longer = 5 times as long
--> 25 times the area

4 times longer = 5 times as long
If 1 times longer = 2 times as long, then 4 times longer = 5 times as long
right?
If 4 times longer = 4 times as long, then 1 times longer = the same length, so it wouldn't be called longer.

4 times longer is often used when the person means 4 times as long. That's not correct.
Don't even mention "10 times slower."
