The Perimeter of a rectangle is 56cm. THE Ratio of the length to width is 4:3. Find the length and width of the rectangle/
-----------------------
4:3 is the same as 4x:3x where 4x is length and 3x is width.
------------
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
------
56 = 2(4x+3x)
7x = 28
x = 4
-----
length = 4x = 16 cm
width = 3x = 12 cm
-----
Area = 12*16 = 192 cm^2
