Hello,
Let x be the width and length will be (x+4) so the equation will be:
x(x+4)=96
Expand out to:
x^2+4x-96=0
Factor to get:
(x+12)(x-8)=0
Solve:
x=-12
x=8
The answer that makes sense is 8
So width is 8 feet and Length is 12 feet.
Make sense?
