In a triangle, angle A is 1/3 of angle B and angle C is 40 degree more than angle B. Find the measure of each angle.
--------------------
Equations:
A + B + C = 180
B = 3A
C = B + 40
-------------------
A+B+C = 180
B = 3A
C = 3A + 40
----------------
Substitute and solve for A:
A + 3A + 3A+40 = 180
7A = 140
A = 20 degrees
----
B = 3A = 60 degrees
---
C = 3A+40 = 100 degrees
