A rectangle with side lengths 3h and k has a vertex at (-h,k ). which point cannot be a vertex of the rectangle ?
A (h,k) B (-h,0) C (2h,0) D (2h,k)

2 of the rectangles sides are 3h in length
the other 2 sides are k in length
vertex is another word for a corner of the rectangle
rectangles have 4 vertices (vertices is the plural of vertex)
one vertex of this rectangle is (-h, k)
so the length of this rectangle is 3h, and the height (width) is k

visualizing from left to right the vertices of the rectangle:

(-h, k) ---> (-h + 3h, 0 + k)

(-h, 0) ---> (-h + 3h, 0)
or
(-h, k) ---> (2h, k)

(-h, 0) ---> (2h, 0)

answers are: A (h,k) B (-h,0) C (2h,0) D (2h,k)
which of these is not a vertex?

(-h, 0) is, (2h, 0) is, (2h, k) is

answer is A (h,k) , that is not a vertex
