the width of the rectangle is double the length. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 72 feet, what is the length
----------------
Let the length be "x".
Then the width is "2x".
----------
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
72 = 2(x+2x)
36 = 3x
x = 12 (length)
2x = 24 (width)
