Hello,
Let x be the length and 2/3x be the width. Now an equation can be set up as:
x+x+2/3(x)+2/3(x)=80
Combine like terms:
10/3(x)=80
Multiply both sides by 3 to get:
10x=240
Divide by 10 to get:
x=24
So the length is 24 cm and the width is:
16 cm
Make sense?
