You can put this solution on YOUR website!
O added the word "length" to make this make sense
The area of a certain rectangle is 36.
If the ratio of the rectangle LENGTH to the width of the rectangle is 4 to 1, what is the perimeter of the rectangle?
:
Let x = the width
then
4x = the length
:
Find x using the area
4x * x = 36
4x^2 = 36
x^2 = 36%2F4
x^2 = 9
x = 3
then
4(3) = 12; the length
;
The perimeter
2(12) + 2(3) = 30
