Question 274147: the length of a rectangle is 3m more than twice its width, and the area of the rectangle is 54 m^2. what are the dimensions of the rectangle?
Answer by bmckenzie40(10) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you know that length * width = area, so first we will let X = width
therefore
X * (2X + 3) = 54
X=4.5
so the width is 4.5 and the length is 12
