a) How many square yards of sod will it take to cover this area (including both the rectangle and the semicircular ends)? Round up to the next whole square yard.
b)How long is the inside edge of the track (around the outside of the sodded region)?
I had no idea where to start with this one so I started with the area of the rectangle section: 100*70=7000. Now I'm stuck of how to add in the semicircles to get my answers.

Radius of circle is 70/2 or 35 yards
Area is 2 semicircles r one circle = 1225 x pi = 3848.45 sq yd
Rectangle is 100 x 70 = 7000 sq yd
a)Total is 10 848.45 sq yd or, rounding up, 10849 sq yd
b)Length of inside track is 2 x 100 + 70 x pi= 419.9 sq yd
