Question 266079: Which units would you use to measure the area of a rectangle with l = 1m and w =34cm? Explain.
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Area = L*W
1 meter = 100 cm
A = 3400 sq cm
--------------
Or, Area = 0.34 sq meters
----------------
They're the same. If there are other areas involved, use the units that match. Otherwise, it makes no difference as long as it's clear that the 0.34 is not an approximation.
