Hello,
We can let x be the length and x-6 be the width. Now we can set up an equation.
x+x+(x-6)+(x-6)=72 Combine like terms give us:
4x-12=72 Add 12 to both sides will be:
4x=84 Divide both sides by 4 will result in:
x=21 Therefore the length is 21 cm and the width is 15 cm
