Well as there are twice as many centavo coins as Php1.00 this means the total VALUE of each type is the same. This means half the VALUE of Php12.00 must comprise of each type. So we have 6 of Php 1.00 and 12 of 50 centavo?
Make sense?
Algebraically:
0.50*C+1.00*P = 12.00 where C = number of centavo coins P=number of Php coins
S=2Php
0.50*(2P)+P=12
2P=12
P=6.
