Step 3. Perimeter P means adding up all 4 sides of the rectangle or .

Step 4. Solving yields the following steps.



Subtract 8 from both sides of equation





Divide 4 to both sides of the equation

Check P=3+3+7+7=20...which is true statement.

Step 5. Then, area = width * length = 3 * 7= 21 square centimeters.
