find the length and width of a rectangle lot with a perimeter of 70 meters if the length is 5 meters more than the width.

Let the width = "x",
then thelength = "x+5"
------------------------------
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
70 = 2(x+5 + x)
35 = 2x+5
2x = 30
x = 15 meters(this is the width)
x+5 = 20 meters (this is the length)
