Question 18512: I am an 8th grade algebra student. We are learning about dependent and independent variables. I need to solve the a problem about a rectangle that has a perimeter of 24. The equation goes like 24=2L+2W. I read that the lenght is dependent, but why?

A square has 4 equal sides but a rectangle has 2 pairs of diferent sides so the rectanles length could be 3 but the width could be 2
