x-widht
y=3x-lenght
P=48
Perimeter formula: P=2*widht+2*lenght
Area formula: A=widht*lenght
Find x from perimeter formula:
48=2*x+2*3x
48=8x
x=6 widht then lenght y=18
Now find A
A=6*18=108
