Hi,
A rectangular field is three times as long as its width 'w'
L = 3w
     .
2L + 2w = P
2(3w) + 2w = 640ft
 8w = 640ft
  w = 80ft  and L = 3(80ft) = 240ft
Checking our Answer
2*240ft + 2*80ft= 640ft
