25% of that is equal to .25 * 23479 which is equal to 5869.75.

her new total is 23479 + 5869.75 = 29348.75

to get back to her original total, she has to remove that 5869.75 from the new total.

that 5869.75 is equal to 5869.75 / 29348.75 = .2 which is equal to 20% of the new total.
