equ 2: 3x-5/2y=-37/2
I have tried tried multiplying -5 to (equ 1) to take out the fraction and
and -2 to (equ 2) and I'm not sure if that's correct so far.
Answer: equ 1: 10x+y=25
equ 2: 6xt10y=74

Question 427397: what do I do when multiplying rational functions. My teacher said add them across then subtract or somethin like that. But I looked up the answer and i cannot figure out where the 4 came from.

what i did:
a^2-5a-6/a+1 x a-1/a-1 = (a^2-5a-6)(a-1)= a^3-5a^2-6a+a^2+5a+6 = a^3-4a^2-a+6
i am not sure if what i have done is right. and i do not understand what they mean by state any restrictions on the variables.
