Question 341491: The Richter scale. the Richter magnitude m of an earthquake is given in the formula m = A/A(base 0) A is the maximum amplitude of the earthquake and A (base 0) is the constant. What is the amplitude at a million time A (base 0)? I am stumped I answered this question incorrectly and want to find the correct way to solve this problem. thank-you.

Question 342086: What is the reasoning behind the fact that it is not possible for the solution of an irrational number multiplied by a whole number (other than 0) to be a rational number? I know that it is not possible, which is the first step of the question, I just don't know the exact reasoning behind it.

Question 344488: i need help with graphing rational functions with horizontal/vertical/slant asymptotes and holes. i understand how to find the asymptotes but i don't understand how to find the x intercepts or y intercepts to graph it. I also don't understand how to graph a hole if it doesnt have a denominator left. for example, when y= -4/x-1 the Vertical asymptote is 1 & the horizontal asymptote is 0. after graphing these 2 lines i don't understand were to graph the rest. another example with holes is (x+2)(x-2)/x-2. i know the x-2's cancel out leaving me with y=x+2 and a hole of 2. how do i graph that?
