Question 41749: The data shows the number of times a cricket chirped in 1 minute and the temperature at the time of the chirps:
Temp (ēC): 18 8 15 14 10 7 14 6 14 9 14 13 15
# Chirps: 20 17 18 18 16 16 17 15 16 15 17 16 17
A linear model that approximates this data is N = 0.281t + 13.4 where N represents the number of chirps and t represents the temperature. Plot the actual data and the model on the same graph. How closely does the model represent the data?
I really need some help

Question 41607: A nurse preparing a saline solution mixes 150 ml of a 20% solution with x ml of an 80% solution. The concentration of the final solution is given by: C = (4x + 150) / 5(x + 150). Find the concentration after 170 ml of the 80% solution are added.
Thanks everyone

Question 43021: The last three problems of my HW are stumping me and I've been working on them for 2 hours.
Can you solve them but show me the steps you took to get there?
Thanks
(1)Solve for x, y, and z
8x-y+z=41
4x+2y-3z=42
x-3y+2z=-11
(2)Solve for x, y, and z
x+y+z=0
2x+4y+2z=-4
-x+8y-3z=-16
(3)Solve for x, y, and z
x+y+z=-4
2x+5y+2z=4
-x+8y-3z=50
Thank you

Question 43556: Hi
I would appreciate help on this problem that has me against a wall.

what is the range
what is the arithmetic mean income?
what is the population variance? the standard deviation?
Thank you a million times over for your help

Question 43589: I am having trouble when I get to near the bottom of the answer. I will show what I have.
y/ y+7 + 7/y+7 =8 LCD: y+7
y+7 (y/y+7) + y+7 (7/y+7) = y+7 (8)
I cross out the y+7 on the first set which makes it (y)
I cross out the y+7 on the second set which makes it (7)
for the = part, I see that it should be y+56
am I doing it right so far? If so, can you please help me with the rest because I am totaly lost.

Question 43590: At the end of my equation of: 4y/y-10 +1 = 3y/y-10 LCD: y-10
After all my multiplications I got 4y + y - 10 = 3y
Does it end up the 4y + y =5y then - 10 = 3y
5y - 10 = 3y
After adding the 10 to the right side we have 5y = 3y + 10
How am I going to get my Y's on one side? What one of them do I subtract?
Maybe 5y - 3y = 10 ?
then have 2y = 10 ?
If so, do I divide the 10 by 2, to get y = 5 ?

Question 43591: Could you please help me with this equation because the numbers seem out ragous and the end does not make much sense to me, therefor I don't think I did it right.
x/15 + 17x/9 =x/12 I found the LCD to be 180
so we have 180(x/15) + 180(17x/9) 180(x/12)
1. 180 and 15 cancel out to be 12
2. 180 and 9 cancel out to be 20
3. = 180 cancels out to be 15
I then have 12x + 20(17x) = 15x
12x + 340x = 15x
352x = 15x
I don't know if I am suppose to divide the 15 and 352, or something totaly different. Could you please show me how the ending is supose to work.
Thanks!

Question 43632: I am trying to solve for (p)
I have no clue what to do, seeing as their is a LCD of 28, so far I have:
my equation is m^/7 - n/2 = p/4
So far this is how far I have got before I got confussed.
28(m^/7) - 28(n/2) = 28(p/4)
4(m^) - 12(n) = 7(p)
So my question would be, how do i get the (p) alone?

Question 43703: I am having trouble with a new set of problems. The equation is:
x+1/2x+3 = 2/3
I was having help but I can't remeber it all right now. So far I went to
(2x+3)(x+1/2x+3 = 2/3 (2x+3)
x+1 = 2/3 (2x/1) + 2/3 (3)
4x/3 + 6/9- 1
What do I need to do to finish this equation?

Question 43704: I am looking at examples in my book for this equation, but since the (x) is on the top instead of the bottom, I am confussed. here is the equation:
x/16 = 18/8
I think the LCD would be 8, considering 8 goes into both denominators.
(8)(x/16) = (8) (18/8)
x/2 = 18/1
Where am I going from here?
