Question 196760: Simplify each rational expression. State any restrictions on the variable.
1. 3x^2-12/x^2-x-6
I got 3(x-2)/(x-3) x cannot be equal to 3 and -2.
I'm not sure if my restrictions are correct. Could someone please check them?
Simplify each sum or difference.
4(x+3)/(x-1)(x+2) + (x-2)(x+3)/(x-1)
I got 4(x+3)+(x-2)(x+3)/(x-1) which is equivalent to 4(x+3)+x^2+x-6/(x-1)
I'm not sure if I did this correctly...
Could someone check?
Thank you!

Question 196714: An individuals income varies with his or her age. The following table shows the median income I of individuals of different age groups within the United States for 1997. For each age group, the midpoint represents the independent variable, x. For the age group "65 years and older," we assume that the midpoint is 69.5.

Question 196788: A faucet can deliver water rapidly than a drain can remove it. IF the sink is empty, the drain and the faucet is opened then the sink fills in 4 minutes. The drain is able to empty a full sink in 2 minutes longer than the faucet can fill the sink when the drain is closed. What are the tines needed far each to fill or drain if it works alone?

Question 196710: For each rational function, identify any holes or horizontal or vertical asymptotes of its graph.
1. y=[1/x+4]-3
I got:
Holes: none
Vertical Asymptotes: x=-4
Horizontal Asymptotes: y=-3
For the horizontal asymptotes would it be -3 or 3? Or is it something completely different?
2. y=[3/x-1] -2
I got:
Holes: none
Vertical Asymptotes: x=1
Horizontal Asymptotes: y=-2
Would the horizontal asymptote be -2 or 2? Or something else?
Are these right?
I'm not sure if I am doing these type correctly
Thanks in advance for any help!

Question 196789: Suppose that the unit of manufacturing an electrical board varies proportionally with the number of components on it and inversely with the number produced. When 100 boards were produced with 10 componenets, they cost 1.00 each. Suppose we increase the component count to 15 and the number of boards to be produced to 200, what will be the unit cost?
