Question 160004: (4/(x+2)) + 3 = (3x/(x-3))
I do not need to graph, I just need to solve the equation (A rational equation, involving factoring and LCDs) and I am having some problems. The steps that I have are listed below:
4(x-3) + 3(x+2)(x+3) = 3x(x+2)
(4x-12)(3x+6)(3x-9) = 3x^2 + 6x
10x - 15 = 3x^2 + 6x
0 = 3x^2 - 4x + 15
I'm not sure if I did this problem correctly but I cannot seem to factor this equation for the correct answer.

Question 160005: I thought I submitted this yesterday, but I did not get any answers on it. I need to see if I came up with the correct answers. The * sign is used as the mulitplication sign in this problem.
Problem #1)
x-6/x-3 = 2x/x-3
x-3/1 (x-6/x-3) = x-3/1 (2x/x-3)
x(x-3/1) - x-3/1 * 6/x-3 = 2x
x^2 - 3x-6 = 2x
-2x -2x
x^2 - 5x-6 = 0
(x+1)(x-6) = 0
x=-3 x=6
Problem #2 Word problem
In a city of 25,000 homes, a survey was taken to determine the number with cable television. Of the 300 homes survey, 210 had cable television. Estimate the number of homes in the city that had cable television.
210/300 = x/25,000
25,000 * 210/300 = x/25,000 * 25,000
17,500 = x

: Another Inverse and Joint Variation question.
Chemistry Gas Laws. The volume V of an ideal gas varies directly with the temperature T and inversely with the pressure P. Write an equation relating V,T, and P using k as the constant of proportionality. If a cylinder contains oxygen at a temperature of 300 K and a pressure of 15 atmospheres in a volume of 100 liters, what is the constant of proportionality k? If a pistion is lowered into the cylinder, decreasing the volume occupied by the gas to 80 liters and raising the temperature to 310 K, what is the gas pressure.
