Question 25172: I have no idea what i am doing wrong, could you please help me.
The directions say: Solve each equation:
the problem:
x/6 + 4x/3 = x/18
I have the problem done but i didnt do it right cause the answer dosent check:
the LCD is 15 then it comes to 3x + 24x= x, my final answer comes to 27 but it cant be right, help!

Question 25318: Hello,
I am having trouble with using Synthetic division to find the remaining factors of a polynomial. Here is the polynomial and one of its remaining factors:
2x^3+17x^2+23x-42; 2x+7. My teacher did not teach my class on how to do this when one of the remaining factors has a whole number (other than 1) in front of the variable.
Please help me.

Question 25638: Please help me understand how to solve this rational expression.(thank you)
x^3-y^3/x^2+xy+y^2
I think the denomiator factors out to: (x+y)(x+y)
but I am not sure what to do with the numerator!
Is it, xy(x^2-y^2) and if it is, where do I go from there????
Thanks SO much for the help!!

Question 26451: ok so i thought i understood this radical stuff so i need you to explain things in lamen terms for me, # do not work with my head well.
first of all i know the definitions of factors and terms but when it comes down to the problem i just cancel ne thing cause i don't know which is which
so heres one of my questions
heres how i did it:
4x-12/x^2 * 7x+21/28
so i factored the numerators first and got
2*2(x-3) * 7(x+3)
then i factored the demonminators and got
(x-3)(x-3) * 2*2*7
so i canceled out 2*2 on the top and the 2*2 on the bottom, then the (x-3)'s on the top and bottom of the first equation. then the (x+3)'s on the top and bottom of the second equation and then both 7's on the second equation top and bottom
and the answer i got was 0
i didn't know if that was possible to get, maybe i did it right. but its these types of questions that just mess me up. i will prolly be writing for some more help on LCD and stuff like that.
thanx for you help in advance
shanna

Question 26301: I need help with understanding inequality with two variable.
Example how to solve
-2x+y less then or greater then 4
I have tried y=4/2x
The answer on the book states y=2x+4 Why?
Second step is to graph the inequality. How do i find the plots in order to see where the shaded point should be? Do you know of any link that could help with these problems?

Question 26593: I'm suppose to find the equation of each line and write the equation using function notation:
heres the problem:
through (-4,8); perpendicular to 2x-3y=1
heres the work i have done:
-3y = -2x+1 y=2/3x +1/3
slope = 2/3
y-8 = 2/3(x+4)
y+-8= 2/3x + 2 2/3
y=2/3x+-5 1/3
f(x)= 2/3x + -5 1/3
did i do this problem right or am i doing it completely wrong, please help, thanks

Question 26981: I'm trying to figure out rational expressions. The directions are, "If possible, simplify the rational expression." I'm having trouble figuring out where to start. The question is:
3x²-5x-2
--------
x² - 4
I've already factored the denominator and got (x+2)(x-2)
